What you'll gain
A career and university-placement counseling practice helps students and families make good, informed education and career decisions and navigate the path to them — exploring interests and realistic options, finding the right course and institution at home or abroad, understanding requirements, building an honest shortlist, preparing an authentic application, and managing deadlines. It is a guidance and information service, and this course is clear from the first line: this is business capacity-building, and it is NOT admissions, career, immigration, legal or mental-health advice, and NOT a guarantee that any student is admitted, funded, granted a visa, or that the practice earns an income. Everything rests on two bright lines. The first is honest guidance, never guarantees or fraud: you cannot promise admission, a scholarship or a visa — those are decided by institutions and authorities — so you speak in fit and realistic chances; and the application is the student's own authentic work, which means you coach, brainstorm and give feedback but you never write their essay, sit their test, or fabricate a transcript or reference, because that is fraud that gets offers rescinded and students banned. The second is disclose conflicts, stay in scope and don't exploit: if any university or agency pays you a commission you disclose it and never let it steer your advice; you refer visa-legal questions to a registered adviser, distress to a mental-health professional, and the admission decision to the university; and you protect minors' data, price fairly and transparently, and are paid for guidance, not for an outcome. You learn the ecosystem and exactly who does what; how to run career counseling with interest tools like RIASEC as aids and not oracles; the university-placement process from fit to offer; how studying abroad, credentials and visas work and where you must refer; the NACAC and IECA principles of good practice; and how to run the business honestly, with no fee or statistic invented. It closes with the classic mistakes and the scams — guaranteed admission, essay-writing services, hidden-commission agents, fake offer letters and visa scams — with a red-flag grammar and a filter. Two Nigerians travel with you: Mrs. Adaeze, who builds a trusted student-first practice, and Tunde, who runs a guaranteed-admission agency and learns why every shortcut is fraud that ruins him and his students. Where a rule, fee or requirement could not be settled, the course tells you to confirm it live rather than inventing it. This is capacity-building, not advice; you guide honestly, never guarantee, and an outcome and income are not promised.
