What you'll gain

Build a voice-over & localization business — and face AI honestly

Africa’s local languages — Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Pidgin, Swahili and more — are a large, underserved market for voice work: streaming and Nollywood dubbing, adverts, e-learning, audiobooks, telephony, and the huge NGO and public-health demand for content people actually understand. This course trains you to build a voice-over, dubbing and localization business to serve it — solo or as an agency — and it is honest from the first line: it is orientation and capacity-building, not a guarantee of income, the field is competitive, and AI voice is a real disruptor it will not pretend away. You learn the difference between voice-over, dubbing and full localization; the craft of the voice as a trainable performance skill (diction, tone, pacing, interpretation, direction, and above all authentic local-language delivery); and how to build a home studio that works — the recording chain from mic to interface to headphones to software, and the truth that the room beats the mic, so a quiet, treated space matters as much as the gear (with no gear price invented — you confirm current prices). You build the single most important asset, a demo reel, and learn the dubbing and localization workflow end to end: translation, then the specialised adaptation step where timing, lip-sync and cultural nuance are won or lost, then casting, recording to picture, mixing against the M&E track, quality control and delivery. Then the money most beginners get wrong — pricing models, and the rule to charge for the usage granted (a local radio ad and a global streaming release are not the same fee), plus usage rights, buyout versus licensed deals, and contracts that protect your voice against unauthorised AI cloning. You learn where the clients are and how a demo, outreach and reliability build repeat work, and how solo and agency models differ. Finally, the course faces the AI-voice reality squarely — what AI does well, where human voices still win (emotion, character, cultural and dialect authenticity, direction, trust), and how to position on the local-language niche AI is weakest at — with the ethics of voice (consent is the bright line), the scams to avoid, and a sober set of hard truths. Two Nigerians travel with you: Tolu, a solo Yoruba/English artist, and Aminu, building a Hausa localization agency. Where a rate, gear price, platform fee or the AI state could not be fixed, the course tells you to confirm it live and, for significant contracts, to see a professional. This is orientation and capacity-building, not a guarantee of income and not financial or legal advice.
